Australian actor Simon Baker is best known for playing fake psychic Patrick Jane on CBS’s The Mentalist. I think I wrote a similar description for James Roday who plays a fake psychic on Psych. Regardless, the role has brought new fame to Baker, who also gained notoriety for his nude scenes in Sex and Death 101.
Christopher Gorham plays the lovable geek Henry Grubstick on Ugly Betty, but fans will also know him from Harper’s Island, Jake 2.0 and Popular, to name a few. Gorham has been working steady in television for the past decade.
A bit of Christopher Gorham trivia: He proposed to his wife, his college sweetheart, outside the Tiffany’s in Beverly Hills after setting up a picnic outside so they could have breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Joe Manganiello has been a busy actor in recent years but his schedule is about to get more hectic. Its just been announced that Manganiello will play werewolf Alcide on HBO’s True Blood when the show returns in June. Joe has already done some nude scenes, so I full expect him to join Ryan Kwanten and Stephen Moyer getting naked on the True Blood set. He’ll also be reprising his role on One Tree Hill as Owen Morello as well. You might also recognize Manganiello from his role as Brad on How I Met Your Mother.
Brando Eaton just wrapped up his role as Jonah Mitchell, son of Dexter Morgan’s nemesis Arthur Mitchell on Showtime’s Dexter. I’m kinda surprised they didn’t leverage Brando’s body more. For an actor made famous for his ripped body and shirtless and nude scenes in various B movies and network TV guest spots, there was nary a shirtless shot of Eaton on Dexter. He just had a guest role on NCIS this week as well as wrapping up his series season of The Secret Life of An American Teenager where he plays gay teen Griffin.
Dylan Walsh has been acting steady in Hollywood since his days as a regular on Kate & Allie. These days he’s playing plastic surgeon Dr. Sean McNamara on the wildly popular F/X show Nip/Tuck. His real name is Charles Hunter Walsh.
Carlos Bernard knows a good thing when he finds it. He got his acting start with a role in The Killing Jar in 1997, did some guest spots here and there on various shows, but found a home just 4 years later as Tony Almeida on 24 and has stayed with it for 9 years. There’s some doubt, though, as to whether or not Tony Almeida will be around much longer on 24.
Tristan Wilds, Dixon Wilson on the CW’s 90210, is relatively new on the TV/movie scene but based on his popularity I bet we’ll be seeing a lot more of him. Wilds also had a part in The Wire on HBO and the movie The Secret Life of Bees.
In the 80’s Mark Hamon was king. Voted People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive and starring in the insanely popular St. Elsewhere rocketed him to stardom. He followed that up with a role on Chicago Hope in the 90s and found a home as Special Agent Jethro Gibbs in the NCIS franchise. Mark Harmon seems to have an interesting life. He’s been married to Pam Dawber of Mork and Mindy fame since 1987, was the starting quarterback for the UCLA Bruins in college, and is the uncle of Matthew, Gunnar and Tracy Nelson (children of his sister and late rocker Ricky Nelson.) Though the above picture of a shirtless Mark Harmon is a bit old, at 58 he still looks damn good.
Daniel Dae Kim is arguably the most well-know Asian male celeb on TV today. In his role as Jin on ABC’s Lost, Kim has garnered tons of attention for his heritage (Korean), his acting, and his ripped body. People named him one of the sexiest men alive in 2005 and TV Guide followed up with a similar award in 2006. Daniel Dae Kim was born in South Korea but grew up on the East Coast of the US. Incidentally, I was watching an old rerun of Seinfeld the other day when up popped a young Daniel Dae Kim playing a med student with just a couple of lines.
Here’s a great screen cap of David Boreanaz shirtless and in boxers from last night’s episode of Bones. Boreanaz plays Special Agent Seeley Booth on the show. If you like Boreanaz you’ll be happy to know that he’s done some nude movie scenes.
