Jesse Williams, the hot new actor on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, is getting his 3rd career started. At 28, he’s already been a model (for Kenneth Cole) and a high school teacher in Pennsylvania. In addition to his role as Dr. Jackson Avery on Grey’s, he’ll be in the new Joss Whedon horror flick A Cabin in the Woods.
Soap stud Marcus Patrick hasn’t been working a whole lot since he left the set of Days of Our Lives as Jett Carver, but he’s certainly been around! Patrick has a killer body, and isn’t shy about showing it off for the camera. He’s even done a series of full-frontal nude shots for PlayGirl.
Soap stud Mykel Sahnnon Jenkins plays Charlie Baker on The Bold and the Beautiful. He was the winner of the inaugural season of “I Wanna Be A Soap Star.” Guess he got his wish, and we’re mighty happy he did!
30 Rock’s Tracy Morgan (Tracy Jordan on the show) seems to have a troubled life as a star, despite being on a hit show. He was busted in Hollywood a few years ago for a DUI and was apparently driving completely naked at the time. He’s had other run-ins with the law over booze. His career has stayed on point, though, and he continues to do stand-up shows and published his autobiography “I Am The New Black” last year.
Hot black TV actor Mehcad Brooks has been show-hopping the past couple of years, but luckily for him, they’ve mostly been hit shows. He kicked off things on Desperate Housewives, made the jump to True Blood and has now landed back at ABC with his role as Malcolm Bennett in The Deep End. We disappointed we won’t get to see as much Mehcad skin on network TV as we did on True Blood, but there are plenty of pics of him out there…
Mekhi Phifer is definitely an under-rated talent in Hollywood. He’s been working in the biz since 1995 in various box office hits as well as on hit shows like ER and Curb Your Enthusiasm. These days he’s playing FBI Agent Ben Reynolds on FOX’s Lie to Me.
Nelsan Ellis plays Lafayette Reynolds on HBO’s True Blood, the drug-dealing, internet porn-making gay man of Bon Temps. Lafeyette has to be one of my favorite characters on TV with his flaming but tough ways.
Harold Perrineau first caught my eye as Augustus on HBO’s OZ, where he played an inmate and narrator for the show. I loved him in his role as Michael Dawson on ABC’s Lost. Much of the Lost cast is returning next month for the final season of the show, but so far no word on Perrineau. After he originally left Lost, he starred in a new ABC show The Unusuals. I thought it was a great show, but it didn’t make the first season cut.
Tristan Wilds, Dixon Wilson on the CW’s 90210, is relatively new on the TV/movie scene but based on his popularity I bet we’ll be seeing a lot more of him. Wilds also had a part in The Wire on HBO and the movie The Secret Life of Bees.
I have to admit, when Shirtless Ice-T joined the cast of Law & Order SVU as Detective Odafin “Fin” Tutuola, I wasn’t impressed. Over the years, though, his acting has improved and his character has developed and I kinda dig him now. He doesn’t have the body of LL Cool J (another rapper turned TV star) but he still looks pretty hot shirtless. His real name, by the way, is Tracy Morrow.
After a ton of hype, V The Series seems to be suffering in the ratings and at this point it is unclear if the show will even make it. I haven’t actually seen the show, but they’re turning out some good shirtless scenes! Morris Chestnut (pictured shirtless above) plays Ryan Nichols on the show with co-stars that include Scott Wolf and Joel Gretsch. Chestnut might be best known for his break-out role in Boyz in the Hood with Cuba Gooding Jr. and Ice Cube.
Jesse L. Martin played Detective Ed Green on Law & Order for years. Most recently, he joined James Purefoy in The Philanthropist, but that was cancelled. You can catch Martin nightly in Law & Order reruns, though.
Omar Epps plays Dr. Eric Foreman on FOX’s hit show House M.D. Epps seemed destined to be a performer from a young age. He attended the LaGuardia High School School of Performing Arts (the inspiration for movie and TV show Fame), began writing screenplays at the age of 10, was a back-up dancer for Queen Latifah and started a hip-hop group called Wolfpak.
Best known as Special Agent Derek Morgan on CBS’s Criminal Minds, Shemar Moore got his start as a male model, often striking erotic poses. His big acting break came with his role as Malcom on The Young & The Restless. Shemar will miss a few episodes of Criminal Minds this season as he was hit by a car in August and broke his leg.
